Dr. Ugo Adigweme is a board-qualified, fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon in the Orlando Florida. Dr. Adigweme specializes in the foot, ankle, and lower leg surgery and has a particular interest in sports medicine and arthritis of the foot and ankle. Patients can be seen in Hunters creek, Orlando Fl.

Dr. Adigweme’s practice focuses on open and minimally invasive surgery of the foot and ankle including bunion and hammertoe correction. He also focuses on sports medicine injuries including chronic ankle sprains and achilles tendon injuries. He practices arthroscopic surgery of the ankle to repair cartilage. He also has developed a particular interest in total ankle replacements and arthrodesis to treat foot and ankle arthritides.

Dr. Adigweme graduated from the University of South Florida with a double major in psychology and biomedical sciences. He then went on to graduate with honors from the University of South Florida’s college of medicine with a Masters degree in Molecular Medicine. Following graduation from USF college of medicine, he moved to Philadelphia Pennsylvania for his medical training, attending Temple University where he earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree.

Following medical school, Dr. Adigweme moved back to Florida and completed a podiatric medicine and surgery residency with a focus on reconstructive foot and ankle surgery at Westchester General Hospital in Miami where he was eventually selected to serve as chief resident.

During residency, he developed an interest in trauma and reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle. This interest led Dr. Adigweme to pursue an additional fellowship-training year in adult reconstructive foot and ankle surgery at the Orthopedic center of Florida in Fort Myers, Florida where he was trained by orthopedic and podiatric surgeons within the Lee health care system. During fellowship he received advanced training in total ankle replacements, ankle arthrodesis, ankle arthroscopy, trauma, flat foot reconstruction and various types of ligament repair of the ankle.

During fellowship year he also assisted orthopedic sports medicine surgeons at numerous sporting events including, high school football games and the “City of Palms” basketball tournament. This experience helped peek his interest in sports medicine.

Dr. Adigweme enjoys working with patients of all ages to improve their ambulation, function and restore their quality of life.

Dr. Adigweme has a sister and a twin brother who are also physicians. His twin brother is an orthopedic surgeon in the Orlando territory and his sister is an internal medicine doctor in Atlanta, Georgia. He enjoys, running, working out, playing basketball, listening to music, watching sports, particularly the Jacksonville Jaguars, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.
